Etsy Inspired #77 - United Thread

Happy, happy Saturday!!!!!! It's time for this week's Etsy Inspired challenge. And this week's shop is United Thread. I've had my head in the clouds lately and completely forgot to set my post up for today.....and I still need to get my card photographed and stuff so I'll add that in a bit.

I used this art piece of Two Turtles as my inspiration. I created this card using my ScorPal to create the grid pattern after stamping the images from Flourishes then rubbed it with Distress Inks.

What do you win?! This week, United Thread is offering up a print valued at up to $25 of the winner's choice.

This week's sponsor is Sakura of America. How lucky are we?!? They make an amazing line of pens. They have traditional gel pens, Glaze pens (which leave a nice sheen on the items), and Souffle pens (which have a matte finish and bump up slightly.) They also make the Quickie Glue pen which lets you do things like write and then coat it in glitter. It writes very finely. There are TONS of other products like stickers, erasers, adhesives and many others made from Sakura. Check them out!
Prize pack includes: [*Gelly Roll Stardust Pens, 6 (http://www.sakuraofamerica.com/Pen-Glitter-Gel)]
[*Quickie Glue (http://www.sakuraofamerica.com/Pen-Glue)]
[*Gelly Roll Metallic pens, 3 (http://www.sakuraofamerica.com/Pen-metallic)]
[*Sticklers, including 3 Glaze 3-D pens (http://www.sakuraofamerica.com/Kits-Sticker

How do you win? Just pick any item in the United Thread to be inspired by and make any creation that you wish. Link your creation back to the EtsyInspired #77 post on the EtsyInspired blog by next Friday Mar. 5th, noon Pacific time to be entered into a drawing to win. Please make sure you credit the shop where you got your inspiration and this challenge to be eligible to enter. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use keyword EIC77.

Feelings of Hope

Gina challenged the CenterStage Spotlight team to make a card with the new Hope is Faith stamp set using the photo above for inspiration. Check out Gina's blog for all the details on this special stamp set.

Here is the card I created......
Using the colors (mainly that orange that just jumped out at me) and the focus on the butterfly. I colored the butterfly using Prismacolor Pencils blended with OMS. I then colored a second one, and embossed it with Dazzling Diamonds and Glassy Glaze before cutting it out and layering it on the original image.

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Hearts Day!!!!!!

I have a great manly Valentine to share with you today!! Yes, this is the card I'm giving to my man. He's a true guy's guy....so I knew that the traditional hearts and flowers and pastel colors just weren't going to work, even if I managed to skip the girly touches. So, I created this card for him using a bunch of stamp sets from Gina K. Designs. I started my stamping the truck from Asela's set "The Journey". Then, masking it off, I stamped the mountain background from Theresa's set "Happy Camper". I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils blended with OMS. I added the sewing and piercing around the edges. The sentiment is from Theresa's set "Purrr-fectly Delightful".
Yep.....I even decorated the inside using a sentiment from Gina's set "Love Notes". Since we've only been dating for a month I didn't want to use too sappy of a sentiment, and this one kinda goes with the truck on the front.

I hope you have fun/romantic plans with your loved ones today!!! I know I do!! Yippie!!!

Happy Stamping,
Shannon

StampTV Color Challenge

Happy Monday!!!! It's that time again....time for another color challenge at StampTV.

For this challenge, I have Valentine's Day on the brain....so your colors for this week are pink, red, and green. Plus any neutrals you need. Ok...so the green slide in there just out of necessity...pink grass might be kinda strange afterall. Plus it worked out with the Basic Grey paper I added in.

I used Nina's set "Heartily Yours" and the matching digital paper "I Love Hearts" to create my sample. I colored the image with Prismacolor Pencils blending with OMS. I added clear glaze pen to the hearts, but it just doesn't show up in the picture.

I hope you'll play along with me this week....just create your card and post it in the StampTV gallery with the tag STVCCSB11. Easy Peasy!!!

Happy Stamping,
Shannon

StampTV Color Challenge

Happy Monday!!!!

It's time for another color challenge at StampTV. Can you believe how quickly time's been passing? This is my last month hosting these challenges.

This week's challenge is sage gree, yellow, black and white. My sample is the card I created for the VSN Spotlights on Ice challenge using Theresa's set "Purrr-fectly Delightful". I colored one image, and then mounted the colored image behind the one where I just have the shadows so the colors could poke out the punched out holes. I added Crystal Effects to the vase for shine and dimension. The cardstock is all GKD Pure Luxury and the background paper is Cosmo Cricket.

Swing over to StampTV and check out the details here.

Then just post your creation with the keyword STVCCSB10 in the StampTV gallery for your chance to win.

Happy Stamping,
Shannon
