MFT Idol Week 3 Project

Voting is now live here!!!! My SCS screen name is Mrs. Mac.

It's Week 3 of MFT Idol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And this time....I kept my project focus very much clean and simple. I really wanted to show of the stamps for just what they are....BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

So, I created this cute little "Girls Night Out" purse set. All the sweet little goodies actually do fit inside the purse! The purse and gum containers are projects I measured out and noodled myself so there are no templates to follow.

The mint container is an Ice Breakers Sour container that I relabeled. And the gift card holder was created from the Top Note die from SU! I even included a Frappuccino for after the bar for a pick-me-up!

All the women were paper pieced using the Spring and Summer paper packs....both pre-printed and digi printed. They are colored with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. All the glasses are coated in crystal effects....and the margarita glass is rimmed in glitter.

The stamp set is the soon to be release to the general American public....Girls Night Out!!!! How fun, huh?????

I just had to make 4 for each glass in the set!!!
A closeup of the label from the Starbucks frappuccino bottle so you can see the crystal effects and glitter.

Viva Las VSN!!!!

***scroll down for the Unity WR Blog Hop post***

Yesterday was the first mini VSN for the Big May Viva Las VSN Event!!! And since I'm one of the showgirls I wanted to create cards for each of the challenges. Well...I got 5 out of the 6 done. And it's not to late for you to play along! Uploads aren't due until 10pm Monday.

This first card is for the Circus Circus Challenge. We were to make a card inspired by the circus and use orange somewhere as well. This second card is for the Bellagio challenge. We were to create a card inspired by the glass flower ceiling. So, we had to incorporate a transparency and flowers.

The third card is for the Venetian challenge. We were to be inspired by the colors in the Venetian's lobby....yellow/gold, white/cream, burgundy, and blue.

This forth card is probably my was for the Mandalay Bay challenge. We were to create a card using the shark reef as our inspiration and incorporate a playing card. And what's a Vegas themed VSN without a I added one to this card....cute, huh? Any guesses on how I made her feathery skirt?

The fifth challenge....The the one I didn't have time to finish...maybe later today I will. The challenge is to make a View-Master card.
The last challenge...The Luxor...was to create a triangle shaped card and use the faux felt technique. I personally don't like how this one turned out...neither did my mom! Sheesh! I think it looks like some strange mixed up Vegas acid trip. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder...and what I may not like, others will. Plus I'm my own harshest critic.

Remember....there's still time to play today! Just have your uploads into SCS with all the proper keywords by 10pm Eastern Monday! Can't see what you create with all these fun challenges.

PS.....Stop by and sign up as a follower at the Cuttlebug Challenge blog....they're giving away lots of prizes thru the 30th!!!! And there are sneak peeks as well for new Provocraft products.

Unity for Challenges

It's Thursday...and you know what that's Hip Hop day at Unity!!! Whoooo.....hoooo.....

The Hip Hop chat starts at 11am Central at the Unity forum over at SCS. The Hop itself starts at 10am Central at the Unity blog.
Here are some cards I made last night featuring Unity stamps.

The first one I created for this week's SCS sketch challenge. I used Unity's "Feel the Joy" set. I even used my Flower Soft based on this week's product feature. I love the way it came out. It's very interesting stuff to use. The DP is "porcelain" by Basic Grey. I also used Mellow Moss, Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock.

This card I created for the Unity Thinks Spring Hip Hop challenge. It kinda looks like our skies, brown everything else!! My flower beds are a mess!!!! Probably because it snowed so early last year that I never got that last final cleanup in. So, all the flowers are sitting there brown and dried up. Welcome to spring in Michigan!!! Although I did see peeks of green coming up in the back flower bed yesterday.

The stamps here are from the March KOM. I'm loving so many of the images in this set. It's my favorite kit so far! I stamped the silhouette flowers first in Tempting Turquoise, then using my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement....stamped it again in Chocolate Chip. The cardstock I used is Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White. The DP is by My Mind's Eye.

There are 2 other challenges that I hope to finish up this morning as keep watching....

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #24

It's Cuttlebug Be Inspired Day!!!! This week we used digital images from The Cutting Cafe. I choose to use a large cupcake and the cupcake stand. I used the "D-vine Swirl" and "Swiss Dots" Cuttlebug Embossing Folders on the background. I colored the image with Prismacolor Markers and gamsol.

I hope you're able to play along with us this week!!! Just link your project up to the Cuttlebug Challenge Blog.

Also....if you haven't for your favorite MFT Idol. Details in this post.

Happy Stamping!!!

MFT Idol Voting is Live!!!

Vote Here for Mrs. Mac!!!!!

MFT Idol Week 2 Project

Voting is live here!!!!!

It's MFT Idol time again!!!!!

This week's challenge was masking! So, I masked and masked and reverse masked!!!! Now I have all these little inked up paper around me.

This is the finished set....complete with card and a stationary set.

The box I created in my own head based on what I wanted to add inside. The tag on the front is the SU! Top Note Die. I used the slot punch to run the ribbon thru. The lady from "Going Places" was masked for the skyline on each side. And her and the skyline were masked off for the grass and the sky. Then I reverse masked her and added flowers from "Build a Bouquet" to her dress. All the coloring with done with Prismacolor Markers and Gamsol.

Here you can see how the box has different compartments. The pages on the left are 1/2 sheets of cardstock for jotting down a quick letter home. The cards in the upper right are 4" square. And the mini cards on the bottom are 4" x 2"....perfect for a quick thank you. There's even a spot for stamps and maybe a small pen....which I don't actually own.

Here's the main card. I used the same masking and coloring techniques as on the tag for the box. The "Bon Voyage" tag is a Nestabilities Ribbon Tag.

Here's all 3 cards/note paper from inside the box.

The note sheet uses the "Going Places" and "Build a Bouquet" sets. I masked her off to stamp the skyline behind her....then reverse masked to add the flowers to her dress.

This little card uses the Nestability die as a mask for the sides. I also masked the skyline to sponge in the blue sky.

For this mini card I reverse masked each suitcase to add the flowers.

I hope you've enjoyed my project!!!! I sure had fun creating it. Don't forget to go vote!!!!!

Happy Stamping!

It's Etsy Inspired Day!!! Whooo hooo...

Today's shop is soooo cute!!! It's called Allibeans and she has the cutest little bags. So, if you're a bag person, run over there and get a few!

I picked this one as my inspiration. I used 2 different sets from Bombshell stamps for this card...."Love & Luck" and "Bombshell Angel". The DP is "bittersweet" by Basic Grey. I also used the sketch challenge from SCS from this week.

Don't forget to get Etsy Inspired yourself! Then leave a link on Ashley's blog for your chance to win this week. Oh, yes, there's a prize!!! This week's prize is a small bag. And they are cute!!!!

Unity Challenges

I was going to wait and share these cards tomorrow for HHH, but I figure since they're already posted on SCS and the Unity girls have seen them, that I'll post them now and come up with something else for tomorrow.
The first card is for the Unity Eggcitement use an oval element on your card.
I used the stamp set "Floral Fantastical" for the flowers and the sentiment. The DP is "sugared" by Basic Grey.

This card is for the Bunny Hop with Unity Challenge. To create a card using Easter colors. Pinks and yellows and flowers are Easter-y right? The stamp is "Flowers from Neverland". The DP is "urban prairie" by Basic Grey.
Don't forget....HHH tomorrow!!!!

Hip Hop Thursday!!!

Today is a day of rest and relaxation! I've made the MFT Idol Top 9!! And I'm going to take today to refresh.'s Hip Hop Thursday over at the Unity forum at SCS. There's going to be lots (and I mean lots) of chatting going on as well as giveaways and challenges. And don't miss out on the Hip Hop itself! That will start at 10am Central at the Unity blog.

Here are 2 projects I made last night. The first one is for the Unity Addicts Challenge. It was to use something unusual on a card or to recycle something. So, I recycled the bag that my August KOTM came in! How perfect, huh! I filled it with some chocolates and added a quick little tag. And I need some chocolates after this last Idol round. The mushroom from "You+Me=Happy" is colored with Prismacolor markers and Prismacolor pencils with Gamsol. "Indulge" is from the August KOTM.

This card was created for the SCS Sketch challenge for this week. I used SU!'s Urban Oasis DSP for the stripes. It's perfect since it's 2-sided. The stamps are from the "Gratitude=Joy" set by Unity. I added the highlights using a white gel pen. Easy peasy!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

My Week One MFT Idol Project

Thanks to everyone who voted for me! I'm in the Top 9!!!!!! Same time and place next week!

Voting is live here!!!!! My SCS Screen name is Mrs. Mac.

Oh...boy....well here goes nothing!!!!

This is my project for Week One of MFT Idol. Voting opens to the SCS public tonight at 10pm Eastern so please come join us in the MFT forum and vote for your favorite projects.... hopefully mine is one of them. Since I like to celebrate all my victories...large and small...with a tasty glass of vino, I figured this celebration wasn't any different! So I wanted to create a "Celebration" project to reflect that. I created a card that pretty much explained how I felt that night after they announced that I was the in the Top Ten. I remember Joy and Sara wondering where I went because I had just commented a few moments prior to the announcement....then disappeared. They were all wondering if I had fallen off my chair or something...when in actuality I "was having a stampgasm!!!!!" Whoooo.....hooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so excited and thrilled I didn't know what to do. To celebrate (and calm myself down) I opted for a glass of wine, as a toast to myself, the other Top Ten contestants and for all the amazing work everyone did.
Here's the card itself. I paper pieced and colored with both Prismacolor markers and Prismacolor pencils/Gamsol "Who's that E-Girl" and masked it off to stamp the "Lavender" so it looks like it's sitting behind her chaise lounge. I added a zig-zag stitch sewing around the main panel and the DP strip on the bottom. The papers are all from the Basic Grey "Porcelain" pack. The sentiment is from "Twisted Sentiments".

I even added some Angel Wings Shimmerz to the flowers. Because every card deserves a little bling!!!

And here's the bottle!!! I paper piece and colored the label the same as I did on the card. The label itself is from Gina's a waterproof label meant for just this!! I've had them for awhile, but haven't used one until now. And Gamsol works great for taking off the residue from removing the old label that was on there.

Here's a better look at the label itself while it's on the bottle....

And before, while it was still flat after I finished. I used Tim Holtz "Tattered Rose" distress ink around the edge. The sentiment is from "Digital Girl". I really love how all the MFT sets work so well together.

Now...the cute little tags. Yep, shrink plastic!!!! I stamped each with either the "Lavender" or "Chamomile" stamp in Black Staz-On ink. Then I colored them with Prismacolor markers and Gamsol. I added a little jump ring thru the hole I punched before shrinking. And tied on the ribbon.

Well....that's it. I hope you like it and that it's good enough to put me into next week. Remember....the voting it now up to you!!!! Rush over to the MFT forum and vote. The polls open at 10pm Eastern tonight and will remain open until 10pm tomorrow night. You can vote for multiple projects, but you can only vote once.

I'm going to go enjoy that glass of wine now that I can relax!!! And clear off my desk....I have every single MFT set I own, several ink pads, dew drops, pliers, ribbons, paper scraps, cards, rulers, blocks, pieces of cards I didn't use, and shrink plastic all over the place.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #23

Happy Wednesday!!!! And you know what that's Cuttlebug Be Inspired Wednesday. This week's challenge was to use punches in a creative/unusual way. Ugh! I didn't have a clue!!!! Well, I found this site that offers lots of ways to use punches to create flowers. And I decided to create an anniversary card complete with a floral bouquet of sorts. I followed her tutorial here for the scallop roses and this one for the other scallop circle flower. I added the leaves made with the 5-petal punch and the branches from the EK Success punch.
The circle was cut out using the Scallop Circle die and embossed with the "Textile" Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The Riding Hood Red panel is embossed with the "Distressed Stripes" Cuttlebug Folder. The edge on the scallop circle was created by crimping a piece of Whisper White cardstock that had been punched using a new EK Success edge punch and adhering it to the back of the circle. The card base is embossed with the "Swiss Dots" Cuttlebug folder.

Come join us at Cuttlebug Challenge!!! We're being sponsored this week by Shealynn. And this week's random winner gets to choose a camera strap from Shealynn.

Thanks for stopping by! And don't forget to vote for me...I mean your.... favorite MFT Idol on SCS!!!!!

QKD Design Team Call Submissions

Just keep trying.....just keep trying....

I received an interesting email at the end of February from Vicki at Queen Kat Designs about their upcoming Design Team call. The original call closed on the 15th so you can imagine I was scrambling all day Sunday to get my application finished up. But now, they've extended it til the 28th so there's plenty of time for you to send in your application too.

Here are the 3 cards I made for the 3 sketches they provided. These first 2 cards use stamps from Unity Stamp Co. I don't actually own any Queen Kat Designs stamps....yet. So many stamp companies, so little time and money!!!! But I love their images, and some are very similar in style to the Unity stamps so that's why I chose them to use.
The 3rd card uses stamps from Paper Makeup Stamps and Inkadinkado.

I hope you send in your application too! Maybe we'll both get to be QKD Royal Stamping Maids!!!

Stop by later to see my MFT Idol project!!!
