I've never heard of a Moo card, but I can tell these little guys are going to be addicting! So fast to make and so cute!

Here is a link to mine (scroll down cause I combined the post with Kerry's Challenge)

Thanks for introducing me to these fun cards!

Congrats Jenn!!!!!! Send me or Ashley your info and we'll get your prize out to you.

Hi!!! It's me, Shannon...aka Mrs. Mac at SCS and TigerLily at PCP. Think I have a split personality? I'm so thrilled to be a part of Ashley's Etsy Inspired Eight. And today's hop has been just FAB!!! So, I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself. I'm 33, divorced (hence the dual personality), have 2 cats (Chessie and Zoie) and 1 puppy (Bailey), and have been scrapbooking since high school! I've kept up with paper arts off and on since then. When I divorced and moved into an apartment I didn't really keep up with it since I didn't really have the space or time for it. Now that I own my own home with my own studio I've been stamping full steam ahead since August. I've had the pleasure of serving on several design teams and as guest designer several times in the couple of months so far this year. Ok, enough about me, onto the challenge.....

Can you believe it? It's finally time for my challenge. I'm so excited! It's been a long day since I got up at 8am to finish off a few cards for today. Have you been over chatting with us on PCP? It's been a blast with a bunch of giveways going on every hour.

Did this pic from yesterday give you any ideas about my challenge? I know it only confused Ashley and she knew what the challenge was!! :-) Well I won't keep you waiting any challenge is......

My challenge for you today is to create a "Moo" card. These little treasures are 1" x 2-4/5"...tiny little piece of art. And they can be used for many things. They are great on their own as little gift cards...

I've attached one to my business card so that when I give my card to someone they have a unique card from me as well without me breaking the bank....

or they can be used as part of a larger card.

Now go and create a "Moo" card or project!!! There are no vendor restrictions, the sky's the limit. Only take an hour to create your little work of art. Leave me a comment here by Tuesday, March 3rd at midnight PST with a link to your project and I'll pick a random number for the prize pack. If you upload to any online galleries (PCP or SCS) use the tag EICShannon so we can all find your creations easier.

Wanna know what you're gonna win? It's a Top Score Multiboard from Timeless Paper Arts.
Pretty sweet prize, huh? Well....Kalla has made this even sweeter by providing us with a coupon code to use at her store as well.

Etsy Hop Challenge #7

Time for Kerry's killer challenge. She challenged us to only use circle embellishments. Ugh! I couldn't use ribbon!!!! It was torture I tell ya! She's giving away a prize from Unity Stamp Co., and I know what a popular company they are amongst the Etsy followers so you better play along.

I used my 1-3/8" and 1-1/4" circle punches to create my own embellishments for this card. The stamp is "When the world says give up..." from Paper Makeup. Loving these new stamps. Katie started the company from a passion for stamps and it clearly shows in her offerings.

Remember to link up your project to Kerry's blog by midnight PST on March 3rd for your chance to win. And stop by the other DT member's blogs and leave them some love too.

Time for Joy's "Desperate" Housewives challenge. She's going to be giving away a prize from Shortcuts so make sure you play along.

I created my card based on the pic she provided of the Desperate Housewives for us as inspiration. The papers are from the "Rockabilly" DSP set from Stampin' Up! The stamp is from Melanie's "The Best Things in Life" from Gina K. Designs. I added the big Prima flowers, self adhesive pearls to the scallop border and some "Diamond" Stickles to some of the big polka dots. I can't wait to see what everyone come up with!!!

Etsy Hop Challenge #5

I was a bit behind the ball with getting my samples done, so I did this one this morning when I got up for Sara's challenge. Yep, her challenge was to use acetate! Which for me is a real challenge since I just don't do it very often. She'll be giving away a prize from Rubber Romance so make sure you play along with us.
For this card I embossed the acetate with my "Tiny Bubbles" Cuttlebug folder. I also used the "Tiny Bubbles" folder on the purple mounting layer for the image. The stamp is "Be Calm" from MFT. The papers are Glimmer papers from the Paper Temptress. I colored the image with Prismacolor Markers.
Dont' forget to leave a comment on Sara's blog with the link to your project before midnight on March 3rd for your chance to win. And don't forget to visit the other DT member's blogs and leave them some love.
See you in another hour for yet another great challenge!!!

Etsy Hop Challenge #4

Whoo.....hooo.....we're onto the 4th challenge. This time it's Jackie hosting with a prize pack from Lovely Supplies to give away.
Jackie's challenge was a sketch challenge with a color challenge using the color scheme of the DSP you use. I used the new DSP "Urban Oasis" for my DSP layer. I love that it's 2 sided so you can see the back layer peek thru on the folded piece. The flower is from the "Fifth Avenue Floral" set and colored with Pearlescent Watercolors from MFT. The ribbon I picked up at Michael's.
Don't forget to leave a link with you project on Jackie's blog by midnight on March 3rd to be eligible to win the prize.
See you in an hour!!!!!

Etsy Hop Challenge #3

Time for the 3rd challenge. This time Lindsay has the challenge for you. And it was a tough one! She's going to be giving out a prize pack from Paper Makeup so make sure you play along because Katie's stamps are amazing!!!! I used them to make a 2nd card for this challenge since they are the sponsor...and cause they are fun....and they're new....and I just love to stamp.

The challenge is to create a card with just cardstock and printed paper!!!! So on both cards I decided to make my own. The first card featuring Gina K. Designs stamps I used the Burned Batik technique to create the leafy panel under the main image. You can find the directions for this technique here on SCS so I won't go into too many details on it. I used Certainly Celery and Mellow Moss for my 2 inks. All the images are from Gina K. Designs "Tropical Flowers" stamp set. For the main image I used 2 different techniques on the flowers. For the solid type flower I used the "Rock n Roll" technique with Apricot Appeal and Pumpkin Pie. For the other I used the thumping technique with Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard Stampin' Write Markers. I used Mellow Moss classic ink for the stems and leaves. I sponged Apricot Appeal around the edges. The ribbon is the white organdy ribbon from Stampin' Up!

This is the 2nd card I made for this challenge using Paper Makeup Stamps. Aren't they cute! Today I'm feeling like the bug....instead of the windshield like a few days ago.

The set is "Buggy Sayings". I stamped the splat and the bumblebee onto the Certainly Celery layer to create my own DP. I added a few splotches to the sentiment layer and covered them with Crystal Effects for some shine.

Remember to leave a link to your project at Lindsay's blog in order to be eligible to win the prize pack before midnight PST on Tuesday, Mar. 3rd. And don't forget to stop by the other DT member's blogs and leave them some love.

See you in an hour for the next challenge!!!!

Etsy Hop Challenge #2

Ready for another challenge? This time it's Lee's turn to create a challenge for you. She'll be giving away a prize pack from Limelight Papercrafts. She issued up a color challenge using....can you, white and black!!!! Yep, her favorites! Although I have to say my card for her is without bling.....what was I thinking?

This card was really quick and simple to put together. The base is the FAB new DSP from Stampin' Up! called "Rockability". I need more!!!! I wish there was a way to get just this black stripe and the Kiwi Kiss stripe without all the cherry papers since I'm not really into cherries....or the little skulls for that matter.

Anyhoo....the big silk flowers came from my local stamping store, The Stampeddler. I layered 2 together. The center was created using a 1-3/8" punch with the Retro Black Glossy paper from the Paper Temptress and a 1-1/4" punch with the White Shimmer paper from Stampin' Up!. I stamped the circle from "Circle of Friendship" stamp set retired from SU! in black craft ink and embossed with black EP. I added it to the middle of the flowers using mini pop dots. Then added the Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon and white button across the bottom.

Remember to leave a link to your project on Lee's blog to be eligible for her prize before midnight on March 3rd. And don't forget to stop by the other DT member's blogs and leave them some love.

See you in an hour for the next challenge!

Hop with the Etsy Inspired Eight.....Starts Now!!!!!

It's finally time!!!!!! Time to Hop with the Etsy Inspired 8!!!! And today we're actually hopping with 10, since Ashley, our fearless leader, and Sara, our Feb Guest Designer, are going to be joining us.

First up for her challenge is Tiffany and she's going to be giving away a prize pack from Odd Bird Planet!!! She's issued a challenge to get inspiration from Etsy by searching for "Inspiration". I came across this Watercolor Print when I did my search and I knew exactly what I wanted to do for it.

I started out with a piece of White Shimmer paper from Stampin' Up! On the top I brayed Barely Banana, Apricot Appeal and So Saffron. Then I added some sponging with More Mustard around the top corners and masked off the card and sponged in the sun.

Then, without masking anything off, I brayered the bottom with Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze and Pacific Point. Adding some extra sponging of the Pacific Point and Night of Navy around the edges.

The final step was to add the streaking. On the top I used Summer Sun and on the bottom I used Brocade Blue. And all I did was took my open ink pad and swiped just the edge very lightly across the paper back and forth until I liked the look.

I added the sentiment from Inkadinkado in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and mounted the whole thing to a Basic Black card base.

Hope I've inspired you to go to Etsy and get some "Inspiration". Remember to leave a link to your project at Tiffany's blog in order to be eligible to win the prize pack before midnight PST on Tuesday, Mar. 3rd. And don't forget to stop by the other DT member's blogs and leave them some love.

See you in an hour for the next challenge!!!!

Paper Makeup Stamps DT Call

Did you see? Katie at Paper Makeup Stamps is having a Design Team call. So, I thought I'd throw my hat into the ring and see what happens. I'd love to get a position because I just love Katie's work...did you see the tat she has on her blog today? Cute!! And I love PMS!!!! How strange does that sound.....well, it's not if you've seen her stamps. They are FAB!!!!

The call required 3 submissions, one card featuring a quote, one with a colored image and one showing your style. These are the 3 cards I created. The first one here is the card that features a quote. I used PMS's "Art is Life" large quote and stamped it with Staz-On ink on Pearl Vellum from the Paper Temptress. The tree is from Stampin' Up's "Branch Out" set and was stamped on Retro Black Glossy cardstock from The Paper Temptress (loving these new papers....yummy) in VersaCraft White and heat embossed with Whisper White EP. I added the copper satin ribbon from Flourishes and attached the vellum using copper brads.

This is the 2nd card I made....the one that features a colored image. And I just couldn't help but use "Chelly with Clover".
Isn't she cute dancing along getting ready for St. Patrick's Day? I colored her using Prismacolor Markers and added "Angel Wings" Shimmerz to her wings, "Coffee" Shimmerz to her hair, and "Wintergreen" Shimmerz to the clover. The DSP is the new "To the Nines" speciality paper from Stampin' Up! I also used their scallop edge punch with my 1/16" handheld punch and some self-adhesive pearls to create the borders.

This is the card I created that showcases my typical style. And I say typical because I don't always do CAS cards, sometimes when the image or mood strikes I layer it on or embellish it up or just get a little "frilly" with the card. And it's good to change it up sometimes to keep your ideas and inspiration fresh.
On this card i used PMS's "Buggy Sayings" set. It's so cute and I love this quote for the butterfly. I used the new Paper Temptress paper in Retro Silver Lustre, and Glossy Black. The Glimmer papers are "Copper Ore" and "Autumn Hay". I also used Black Staz-On ink here to stamp the quote and the butterfly. For the butterfly, I stamped the image once on each color of Glimmer paper, cut them out and them offset them so you could "see the other set of wings" on it.
Happy Stampin',

MFT Who's That Girl Challenge 2-23-09

My card for this week's MFT WTG Challenge. All the paper came out of my scrap pile to paper piece her with.

I'm going to keep this very short so I don't bleed all over my computer.....

PMS Sketch Challenge

My Finger is feeling good enough to stamp, but still hurts to type. Keep hitting the keys right on where I sliced it. OUCH!

So, I'll keep this short and sweet. I made this card tonight for Paper Makeup Stamps sketch challenge on the PMS blog. I was even able to use my new stamp for it! These stamps are so wonderful. I decided to order them mounted to EZ-Mount ilo bare rubber. And they arrived in their own little baggies already trimmed!!!! All I had to do was slap them onto my acrylic block and stamp! How sweet is that?!?!?! Love it!!! And how cute is Chelly with Clover? I mean really....I not usually a huge fairy person, but she's just too stinkin' cute! I colored her with Prismacolor Markers.

Stamps: "Chelly with Clover" by Paper Makeup Stamps, "Best of Luck" by Inkadinkado
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, and "Delicate Dots" DSP by Stampin' Up!
Accessories: Hardware by We R Memory Keepers, So Saffron Grosgrain ribbon, button from my stash of "extra buttons that come in cute little paper envelopes attached to clothes", Prismacolor Markers, Lattice Arch Border punch by MS

Virtual Stamp Weekend atSCS!!

So, I managed to get a few cards made for the VSN at SCS. Then I sliced a chunk of skin off my finger....don't ask how.....but it's extremly painful!!!! And also makes doing anything difficult as everytime I'd bump it the shooting and extreme pain would return and it would start bleeding...again. Made for a very long day. So, I'm going to keep this post short since typing is difficult without real use of my middle finger on my left hand. I'll update the supplies when I can type properly again.

Here's the card I created for the 2nd challenge "For the Love of Chocolate" since I love dark, rich chocolate. This was created for the 3rd challenge "Bittersweet Love" since I have a love/hate relationship with this stamp set.
This one was created for the 1st challenge "Sketch a Little Love"

Gina K "Get Inky" Challenge

I created this card for this week's Gina K. Designs "Get Inky" challenge. The challenge was to ink up a Gina K. set that you have and haven't used yet....and then admit how long you've had it. I purchased this set Jan 27th. Ok, so not that long ago. But all my other sets have been inked up already.

I used "Spring Holidays" on this card in preparation for St. Patrick's Day. I colored the clovers and pot with Prismacolor markers. The DP and buttons are by Basic Grey.

MFT Who's That Girl Challenge 2-16-09

I created this card for the MFT Who's That Girl Challenge. I don't have "Can You Dig It?" so I used "By the Seashore"

The challenge was to use 3 flowers and ribbon. I ended up keeping the black, white, and kraft color scheme without coloring the little lady to keep it simple. Although looking at it now I think the image needs something. Might have to revisit this one and tweak it.

The flowers are Prima Fancies. The ribbons are all Stampin' Up! Basic Black grosgrain, White Organza, and Valet ribbon originals.

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #19

-- Second post of the day....scroll down for the Belli Challenge post --

This week's Cuttlebug Be Inspired Challenge was to emboss acetate. I thought up a couple different ideas for this one, but settled on this card in order to really focus on the embossing. The only stamping is on the tag since the paper itself is so busy I didn't want to add to it. The acetate creates a window to the inside of the card.

Come visit us at Cuttlebug Challenges and play along this week. I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!!

Stamps: "Tag Lines" by Gina K. Designs
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: "Ambrosia" by Basic Grey, Basic Black, acetate
Accessories: Ribbon Tag Trio die by Spellbinders, More Mustard grosgrain ribbon, "Birds and Swirls" Cuttlebug Embossing Folder

Belli Challenge #55

It is BELLI CHALLENGE day!!! And I'm the Guest Designer for the week.

What is the Belli Challenge you ask?
Each week, Chrissy tries to give us a challenge that will use things we have lying around our stamp rooms or homes! With a constant flow of new things coming out, we tend to forget about the other things we have and they quickly become clutter!

This weeks, Belli Challenge is to make a project with your INCHIES!

Here is what you need to do...
1. Anyone Can Play! Spread the Word! :)
2. Make a completed project with your INCHIES
3. Share the link on Chrissy's Blog in the comments linking to your Blog. When you post to Splitcoaststampers or Paper Craft Planet or to your Blog, be sure and put CBC55 as the KEYWORD and mention of the challenge - with a link!
4. Chrissy will do a drawing and the person whose name she draws will be a BELLI GUEST DESIGNER the Fourth week of March.
5. Deadline for entry is Tuesday evening 7 p.m. Central time. But you can do ANY Belli Challenge at any time - we still WANT to see! :)

For this card I actually created the inchies first, then used them as the focal point for the card.

I started with Kraft cardstock and stamped the large swirl from Stampin' Up!'s "Baroque Motifs" stamp set in Tuxedo Black and sponged on various distress inks by Tim Holtz. Then I cut the sheet apart into 1" squares. I grabbed the four I liked and matted them onto Basic Black cardstock. The stamped sentiment is from the "Who's that E-Girl" set from My Favorite Things. I added the white dots using a white gel pen. The card base is Kraft cardstock.

Now....go check out the rest of the team's creations and leave them some bits of luv too!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

This card is the one I'll be giving to my boyfriend today. It's based on the OCC Sketch Challenge from today. I saw the sketch and immediately thought it would make a great gatefold card...with the panel only being attached to one side and a ribbon that ties to keep it closed. I tried not to make it too feminine, so I had to avoid all my floral ideas....and went with blue, black and kraft instead of the usual pinks and reds. I couldn't resist adding flock and some Stickles though.
It ties closed with some of the new ribbon originals from Stampin' Up! It's so cool. I really didn't want to use it because I like it so much, but it was the perfect fit for this card.

Here you can see how the card opens with the panel still attached to the one side.

Etsy Inspired #24

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!

Today's my first challenge with the Etsy Inspired Design Team!!!! Yeah!!!!! So excited to be working with Ashley and the team.

This week's store is JennyBunny Jewelry. And I choose these earrings as my inspiration piece. This week's prize is a bracelet valued at $20 so make sure to enter so you have a chance at winning this great prize.

What do you need to do to play for your chance at winning?
1) Go to the JennyBunny Etsy Store and pick a piece as your inspiration.
2) Create your project...any project from a card, to a layout to a 3-D item...anything that suits your fancy.
3) Leave a link to your project on Ashley's blog.

It's that simple. Here's my card based off the earrings I picked out. I really used the rings as my inspiration creating this "chain" of circles down the side of the card in the "Silver Ore" Glimmer cardstock by The Paper Temptress. And the Dew Drops represent the purple beads. Here's a closeup picture so you can see the Shimmerz on the flowers and the shine of that wonderful paper by The Paper Temptress.

Gina K "Get Krafty" Challenge

As seen in Card of the Week.
I created this card for the 2-9-09 Gina K Designs "Get Krafty" challenge. I originally did a different card, but then half way thru realized I wasn't using Gina K Designs stamps. Doh! No biggie, I'll save that one for another time and place.

I created this one using "Botanical Dreams". The leaves/branches are stamped in Basic Black craft ink and embossed with black detail EP. "Dream" is stamped in Whisper White craft ink and embossed with white EP. Kraft paper is used for the Top Note cut out and the card base. It's finished with a Basic Black layer, Whisper White taffeta ribbon with clear and black buttons.

MFT Who's That Girl Challenge 2-9-09

Nothing like squeaking in under the wire!!!! This week's MFT WTG challenge was to use 3 different DP's on a card. Easy peasy!!!!! And I even managed to incorporate the WUW challenge of using acetate.
This little cutie is from the new set "Tea for Two". Now, I'm not a huge mouse fan, and I certainly don't like them in person. But how cute is this little one with the heart hanging off it's little tail? Adorable!!!
I used 3 separate pieces of "Bittersweet" DP by Basic Grey. One for the side, one as a mat for the image, and another on the inside of the card. I finished it off with "Bittersweet" brads and a button and some taffeta ribbon. The sentiment is also from the set and is on a die-cut tag from the Spellbinders "Ribbon Tags Trio".

CPS Sketch Card - Starving Artistamps

CPS102 is being sponsored by Starving Artistamps this week, so I thought I'd make a card using their stamps! I love these stamps since there are so many different combinations you can make with them.
I even managed to get enough Crystal Effects out of my bottle to add onto the vases.
Stamps: "Small Silhouette Flowers" and "Simple Vases" by Starving Artistamps, "A Lot of Thanks" by H&M Stamps
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink in "Walnut Stain"
Paper: "Granola" by Basic Grey, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, linen thread, eyelet by We R Memory Keepers, Crystal Effects, Lattice Arch border punch by MS

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #18

This week's Be Inspired Challenge was to create a shaped card. I decided to make a wine bottle to use as an invitation to a party. How perfect would this be for a cocktail party, or a wine and cheese party? Or what about making the bottle look like ketchup or mustard for a summer BBQ?

The card is super simple to create too.

Cuttlebug (or Big Shot)
6" x 7" piece of CS for the bottle (I used Stampin' Up!'s new Taste of Textiles paper)
2" x 2-5/8" piece of CS for the label (I used Paper Tempress's Deckled Brockway in White)
Scrap of copper shimmer paper
2 - 2" x 3" piece of CS for the larger oval and embellishment to match the bottle
2" x 3" piece of CS for the smaller oval to match the label
I also added a piece of white paper inside the card to add party details.
"Sincere Salutations" stamp set by Stampin' Up!
Copper Ink
Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Walnut Stain
Classic Oval Nestabilities by Spellbinders
"Symbology" Shapeabilities by Spellbinders

1) Print the template from I printed it as a 5X7 picture, which makes the card approx. 2-3/4" x 6-1/4".
2) Fold the CS for the bottle in half lengthwise so your paper is 3" x 7".
3) Cut out and trace the template onto the CS, then cut out the shape. Rub/Sponge "Walnut Stain" ink around the edges.
4) To make the label, score 1 line at the top of the label and 2 lines 1/4" apart at the bottom using a Scor-Pal
5) To make the foil topper, take your copper paper (at least 2" long) and trace the top of the bottle onto it. Cut out the shape and add score lines to resemble where the bottle would widen at the top using a Scor-Pal. Rub front with distress ink
6) Using the Nestabilities, cut 2 ovals (one the size larger) for the "You're Invited" label. If using the Cuttlebug the sandwich is ... A plate, C plate, Spellbinders Die ridge up, cardstock, B plate. If using the Big Shot the sandwich is ... Multi-purpose platform with both tabs down, cutting plate, 1 shim if needed since each machine is a little different, die cutting ridge up, cardstock, cutting plate.
7) Stamp "You're Invited" onto the white smaller oval.
8) To make the embellishment run the "Symbology" die thru with the same paper you used for the bottle. Use the same sandwiches as above. Before removing it from the die, lightly sponge on "Walnut Stain" ink.
9) Assemble. The oval sentiment is set up on mini dots for dimension.

Make sure you drop by the other DT members blogs and leave them some love after checking out their inspiration for you. Then go to the Cuttlebug Challenges Blog and use Mr. Linky to link us to your creation. Can't wait to see what you come up with for this great challenge!

SUO Card's an SUO card. I really can make them. I used the sketch from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. Although I was really wishing we carried a glitter pen so I could add some sparkle to the butterflies. I could have busted out the glue and the Dazzling Diamonds glitter, but I wasn't up for cleaning up that mess tonight.

This card even contains a few of the SAB items you can earn free with every $50 in merchandise. I used the ribbon bundle and paper pack. The stamp set is the new "Branch Out" set and I'm loving it! I stamped the leaves in Certainly Celery and So Saffron to make it kinda look like it was a happy spring tree with little yellow flowers.

Details (all products by Stampin' Up!)
Stamps: "Branch Out" and "Enjoy Every Moment"
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Basic Black
Paper: Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Delicate Dots DSP
Accessories: Certainly Celery poly-twill ribbon
