PCP 12 Days of Christmas - Day 3

So, today's challenge is to make a creation using a hen, rooster or an owl. I think I have 1 owl stamp since I sold my retired Best of Cluck set. Chickens just aren't my thing.

If you'd like to play along, go here and join in the fun! Upload your card and you might just win the prize for the day.

I'm going to work on my card now with my mom and sister here making their Christmas cards. Not sure how much I'll actually get done since I'm not sure I want my mom playing with my Big Shot and Nestabilities. Scary thought!!!!!

I'll post my creation later on today when I get another free moment.

Well, here it all it's glory. I kinda used the sketch from this week's sketch challenge as well. I colored the owl using my Prismacolor Markers adding shadow with 30% warm gray.

Stamps: Inkadinkado
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Accessories: Cuttlebug folder, Scallop Oval Nestabilities, Classic Oval Nestabilities, Pink Grosgrain Ribbon, Prismacolor Markers

PCP Sketch Challenge 11-29

Check out this week's sketch challenge at PCP.

Stay tuned for my submission.

Here is my submission...

I created this card using Gina K Designs stamp set "Have a Cookie" by Melanie Muenchinger.

I tied very small pieces of More Mustard paper thru each of the ribbons for an extra little something. I stamped the sentiment on the More Mustard ribbon. IRL it gives an almost hologram like appearance.....such that you don't really want those cookie secrets revealed. I added glitter to the cookie tops that I got from my DDSS in her reveal package. I used my Prismacolor Markers to add some depth to the glass of milk. I used 30% warm gray under the cookies and glass for the shadow, Brick white for the milk, and the cookies are Sand and Brick Beige.

"Have a Cookie" by Gina K Designs
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Whisper White, Autumn Leaf DSP, Baja Breeze
Accessories: MS Glitter, white buttons, More Mustard Grosgrain Ribbon, Baja Breeze Grosgrain Ribbon, Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Prismacolor Markers

PCP 12 Days of Christmas - Day 2

I created this card for Paper Craft Planets 12 Days of Christmas Challenge for Day 2. I was able to actually cut into that wonderful Pure Luxury cardstock from Gina K. I purchased the 120lb weight and it's FAB!!!! I couldn't believe how well it embossed in my cuttlebug folder. My usual paper has a tendency to crease funny sometimes. It's funny because I really had a hard time using it....I only have 25 sheets of it. But now that I've used the first sheet I have a feeling I won't be using anything else but this paper. It's just wonderful.

I placed my quarter-sheet of cardstock into my Cuttlebug folder and ran it thru my Big Shot. Then I cut it to 4" x 5.25". Since the cardstock can sometimes "shrink" when you emboss it, I cut it to the right size after. I stamped the bird from Inkadinkado in Versamark Dazzle and embossed it with clear detail embossing powder.

Wrap-It-Up Project #1 - Sneak Peak!

This is a peak at the first project for my Wrap-It-Up class. Details and the completed project will be added after the class is done. Sign-up for the class here.

PCP 12 Days of Christmas - Day 1

I created this card for Paper Craft Planet's 12 Days of Christmas Day 1 Challenge. The challenge was to create a card or item with either a bird or a tree in it. So, I kinda did both. I masked my 2 birds to give the illusion that they are sitting in the tree. I used by brayer with Barely Banana on top and Apricot Appeal on the bottom to create a "sunny" effect to the image.

Stamps: Tee Talk by Gina K Designs, Birds are Inkadinkado
Ink: Night of Navy, Close to Cocoa, and Creamy Caramel
Paper: Whisper White, Close to Cocoa, Barely Banana
Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Sm Oval Punch, Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon

SCS Challenge - Giving Thanks

I created this card for the SCS challenge - Giving Thanks. I just received my box of Gina K goodies and had to use them for this! I masked off the flowers to stamp the leaves under them. I colored the flowers and leaves using my Prismacolor markers.

Stamps: A Year of Flowers by Gina K Designs and Sentiment by Inkadinkado
Ink: Always Artichoke, Basic Black
Paper: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Really Rust
Accessories: Pickle Baubles; Prismacolor Markers in Sand, Walnut, Cocoa Bean, Goldenrod, Yellow Ochre, Dr. Olive Green, Avocado, Green Tea, Dk Green; Edge Distressor

Thanksgiving Before.....

As I walk around my quiet....ok, not so quiet as I do have 2 cats and a, I gaze into my dining room that's all set to welcome my family to a feast. And I figure I better grab a picture now as it will never look the same!!!!!!!!! With only a small gathering this year we're all able to fit at my dining table....ok, they're gonna be a bit cozy on one side.....but with all the food, who cares!

On this day of thanksgiving, I am thankful for my wonderful parents who are always there for me, and for my it's my dad who comes and let's the pup out at lunch time while I'm at work trying to keep my job. I'm thankful I still have a job that can put this roof over my head. I'm thankful for a wonderful sister and brother-in-law and that they have just recently celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary together. And may they make me an aunt one day. I'm thankful for my amazing boyfriend, he's my partner and true love. I'm thankful for our troops that fight for this country and everything it stands for both stateside and abroad. And I'm thankful for all the love I'm given everyday by those closest to me and those I know only thru cyberspace. What is it that you're thankful for?
My thoughts and hugs go out to Gina and to Kristi!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!

Welcome Tile

With everyone coming over to my house tomorrow I wanted to get my new "Welcome" decor elements up......but couldn't decide where I wanted it. How about over the mirror at the bottom of the stairs between the family room and dining room? No, too small. What about somewhere in the kitchen? Nah....too much going on in there as it is. Living room???? Probably wouldn't get noticed. So, I came up with this using the small "Welcome" Decor Elements and 2 of the flowers available as a bulk buy. I put it on the table just inside my front door where I drop my keys, and shoes, coat, and well just about anything else I happen to have in my hands at the time.

Purchase this in my store.

Thank you for trees - Sketch Challenge

I created this card for the sketch challenge SK112208 over at PCP. It's not exactly what I had in mind starting out, but I think I like where I ended up even better. I think there was some inspiration coming from Gina's post from yesterday still rolling around in my brain.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Sentiment is from Inkadinkado
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versamark Dazzle Champagne
Paper: Whisper White, Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder, Oval Nestabilities

This is how things started out. I looked at the sketch and tried to figure out where I wanted to go with it. I was originally thinking of doing some sort of holiday card and I just gravitated toward my "go to" set Lovely as a Tree by Stampin' Up! Then I thought I'd give the trees some sparkle and pulled out this Versamark ink I found at Archiver's. It's called Dazzle and it has sparkles in it!!!! How sweet is that? No mess!!!!! And the right light really sets those sparkles going. I thought it would be perfect for this card. Just the right amount of sparkle that I was looking for.

I crinkled up the More Mustand layer and split it open to give it that fuzzy suede look. I ran the Riding Hood Red layer thru my Big Shot with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder. Then swiped Chocolate Chip ink over the raised dots, and then the Versamark Dazzle over that. Put it all together and called it done. I created the center focal point with the largest oval Nestabilities I have. I cut one in Chocolate Chip and another in Whisper White. Then I trimed the embossed portion from the white so I'd have a perfect chocolate border. I inked up my stamp first with the Versamark Dazzle, then in Chocolate Chip to stamp the trees. What do you think?

Just a Bella Card

I made her for no real reason....just wanted to make a Bella card. Isn't she sweet....all ready to go to the game to cheer on her favorite little hockey player?
Stamps: Hockeymomabella, Sincere Salutations
Ink: Basic Black
Paper: Garden Green, Basic Black, Naturals White
Accessories: Stampin' Write Markers, Wide Oval Punch, Black Grosgrain Ribbon

More Candles

I made these candles today to go with the other ones I made yesterday. Aren't they just too cute? I used either ribbon or DSP or both on them. And I think they turned out just FAB!!!!! In my own very humble opinion. ;-)

Paper: Ski Slope DSP
Accessories: Wide Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Riding Hood Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Vintage Brads, Candles from IKEA

My Thanksgiving Table

Earlier this month I had some time to play and came up with what I thought was going to be the table settings for Thanksgiving. You can find them here. Well, when I went to IKEA on Saturday to get pun cups for my Prismacolor Markers and candles, I picked up some potpourri as well. Well, wouldn't you know it.....I grabbed the red because it matched the room, instead of the orange to match the goodies I had already created. So, I cased myself and created these.

Stamps: Happy Blessings
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red, Kraft, Ski Slope DSP
Accessories: Riding Hood Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Wide Oval Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1/4" Rectangle Punch, Scallop Circle Nestability, Top Note Die, Pillow Box Die, Big Shot, White Gel Pen

A Glimpse into my world....

I got up from my table to grab one of my punches turned back and saw this. Ugh! So, I thought I'd give you a glimpse of the mess I create when I'm creating. I've got 2 projects going here for my Thanksgiving table. Plus another finished one off to the side, and a card off to the side that needed it's picture taken and posted.

This is what is should look like when I'm all done for the day. It looks like this now because I'm trying to clean up the house for Thanksgiving, but I have a feeling it won't stay like this for long.....

Of course you'll notice it's only a picture of my desk.......the rest of the room is still quite a mess! Although I did manage to get all the empty SU! boxes together and ready for the trash on Monday.

Angle Challenge

Gina K. issued a Friday challenge last week with this sketch for an angle card. Here is my take on it.

I used Gina's sketch with alittle inspiration from Michelle Zindorf's brayering techniques. I think the label is WAY outta scale with the stamped image. So, I decided to take it off....which left "lovely" glue marks in the card.....ugh! It didn't look this huge IRL....but once I saw the pic, I was like "something just WRONG with all that!!!!" Live and learn.....

Stamps: Happy Blessings, Live Like You Mean It
Ink: So Saffron, More Mustard, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Really Rust
Paper: Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Autumn Vine DSP
Accessories: Paper Piercer, Sponges, Brayer, Detail Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Versamark Marker
Prismacolor Markers: Walnut, Crimson Red, Goldenrod, Yellow Orange, Spanish Orange, Light Tan, Cocoa Bean, Light Umber, Dark Olive Green, Mahogony Red, Dark Umber

Playing with Rub-Ons

Well, since these are on special this month I figured I might as well get mine out and play with them. I picked up this mug at IKEA for $1.99!!!! Gotta love that store. Of course I had to go there on a Saturday afternoon with the rest of SE MI. I usually go there during the week or right when the open on the weekends so there's hardly a fact it's usually really quiet there during the week after work. Anyhoo......I used my Greatest Moments Rub-Ons on the front and back of the mug. I wonder if I'll ever actually use it, or just look at it looking pretty on my shelf?

More Dry Erase Boards

I just can't stop with these!!!!! They are just addicting! These 2 feature Rockabella and Baby Buttercup. And they can be yours today at my store.

Stamps: Rockabella and Baby Buttercup by Stamping Bella, "Family" stamp by Studio G , "You Rock" by Inkadinkado
Ink: StazOn Jet Black
Accessories: Bic Mark-It Markers, Black 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Blue Gingham ribbon

Thanksgiving Candles

In preparation for Thanksgiving I'm in need of getting the tablescape together. These are a few candles I applied Rub Ons to. It was so simple and they look so great! And....BONUS....they are on special for the remainder of November, 20% off after a $20 purchase! How sweet is that? Stock up quick for those holiday tablescapes.

Accessories: Candle Pack from IKEA, Greatest Moments Rub-Ons
